Gabriel Akol, UD custodian, is one of four heroes in the recently published comic book Echoes of the Lost Boys of Sudan.
Akol along with Satino Athian, Matthew Mabek, and Michael Ngor, are four of the thousands of lost boys of Sudan.
The lost boys are those boys who were separated from their families mostly between the ages of 8 and 10 as they fled the war in Sudan, Mkrumah Mullah, social worker for Refugee Empowerment Services (RES), said.

With the election of senators completed, Student Government (SG) can begin carrying out its plans for the university, Stefan Syski, senior and SG president, said.

Scott Muckenstrum, former associate director of campaigns in Advancement, is now serving as director of development of John Paul II Catholic High School.
Sept. 10 was Muckenstrum's last day at the University of Dallas.
Muckenstrum wants to assist the new high school, which opened this fall, in reaching the level of academic excellence he found at UD.

The annual United States Constitution Day dinner and celebration will begin 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 19, in upstairs Haggar dining room.
The key note speaker is Dr. Tiffany Jones, assistant politics professor. Her speech is titled Is the Story of America.
Students study vireo habitat

A research team from UD spent the summer at the Cedar Ridge Preserve in Duncanville studying how to bring the black-capped vireo back to its former habitat at the preserve.
Heather McWilliams, a team member, explained the "black-capped vireo is the 14th most endangered North American bird.
