Dissent is no longer patriotic

Liberals under the Bush regime never tired of defending accusations of treason with the unanswerable slogan, "Dissent is Patriotic." Obama and his administration, however, have fulfilled their promise of change - for dissent is no longer patriotic.

Is the recession over?

Folks, we've reached the end of the longest economic contraction since World War II: U.S. GDP expanded at an annual rate of 3.5 percent in the quarter that ended in September. For the first time in four fiscal quarters (six if you consider the GDP expansion in the second quarter of 2008 to be a blip), U.S. GDP is expanding, home sales are up, stocks are up and Wall Street is celebrating now that, by general definition, the recession is over.

Inside joke or communist yoke?

White House Communications Director Anita Dunn raised eyebrows a few weeks ago when she, while addressing a group of high school students, identified Mao Zedong and Mother Teresa as the two people she looked to most in life as her inspirations to challenge the status quo. Dunn went on to urge her audience accordingly, "It is about your choices and your path. You fight your own war. You lay out your own path. You figure out what's right for you. You don't let external definitions define how good you are internally."
