Panel discusses the legacy of Willmoore Kendall
A discussion of Willmoore Kendall's legacy and continuing influence for the University was the topic for a packed Gorman Faculty Lounge last Friday at 4 p.m. The discussion was led by a panel consisting of Drs. Leo Paul de Alvarez, professor of politics; John Alvis, professor of English; and Louise Cowan, professor of English.

Dr. Charles Rice to speak on "Dictatorship of Relativism"

The University of Dallas is pleased to host Dr. Charles E. Rice, professor emeritus of law at the University of Notre Dame Law School. Rice will speak on Friday at 5 p.m. in Lynch Auditorium on "Catholic Universities and the Dictatorship of Relativism."

Is a liberal arts education useless? Over 50 students, from freshmen to seniors, poured into Theresa Hall on Wednesday evening to hear Dr. Scott Crider of the English department discuss this very question. Most University of Dallas students will face this question at some point on their educational journey, but Crider assured his eager audience, "You will be useful. Just not yet."

On Oct. 27, Campus Ministry's Dinner and Discourse gave University of Dallas students a better look at how men can become good seminarians and good influences on the church. "It takes a great deal of basic understanding to know who we are as a person," Father Jim Overly said. With the room packed and full of food, UD students listened attentively as they heard Overly speak.

A rosary is strung together bead by bead. Wooden beads, plastic beads, glass beads, beads of many colors. When freshman Jill Dominy found herself in charge of providing rosaries for an entire diocese of young people in Africa, she found herself in need of a lot of beads-600,000 beads for 10,000 rosaries.
