The 2005 March for Respect will take place Saturday, April 2, in Dallas' West End. The march, hosted by the Developmental Disabilities Network of North Texas, raises awareness for people with intellectual disabilities, Tory Morrow, president of UD's chapter of Best Buddies, said.
Members of Best Buddies plan to meet and drive to the march together. Students interested in joining them may call Morrow at ext. 2913 or e-mail her at vmorrow@udallas.edu.
Best Buddies is participating partly because the "work site where the buddies [who are partnered with UD students] work is involved with the march," Morrow said.
A kick-off rally will precede the march featuring Hall of Fame Olympian Randy Snow. March participants will meet at Market Street in Dallas and walk a mile, according to www.marchforrespect.org. Registration for the march is free.
