Question of the Week:
This has happened a few times. Whenever I want to get to know a girl more, for some reason, I always shy away from her, fearing that I might make a fool of myself. How do I get over this?
-Awkard
Dear Awkward,
My only advice to you is to relax!
Most girls are flattered by attention from the opposite sex-as long as one is respectful. Even if you say or do something "foolish", the girl will recognize and appreciate your effort if she has any good manners.
Ideally, by taking the chance of appearing silly, you are rewarded by getting to know a nice new girl. The worst that could happen is that you discover the girl you had your eye on is not very nice. In that case, though, you are still better off than before, because now you can move on without regret.
Do yourself the favor of taking the risk.
Good Luck!
Heather
Hey Awkward,
I think that most guys have done the same thing some time or another. What you need to remember is that making a fool of yourself only happens when you act like a fool.
If you act like yourself then you have nothing to worry about, and if the girl doesn't respond to you-acting-like-yourself then move on, but you will never find out how the girl will respond if you don't try to show her yourself.
Also, just relax and have a good time when you're with that special girl. Try to get to know her without making it awkward for both of you.
Relax, just hang out, show her a good time, and (most importantly) be yourself and you should be fine.
Take it easy and God bless.
Rafael
