Spring 2007 Senior Studios performed this weekend at the Margaret Jonsson Theater…
"I Never Saw Another Butterfly" directed by Laura Berrios, is set during the Holocaust in the Nazi Ghetto Theresienstadt. It follows the emotional story of a Jewish girl, Rajah, who ends up the only survivor in a group of children. Sensitively presented and gripping, this show is aimed to bring awareness to the threats of genocide today as well.
"Dostoyevsky's Crime and Punishment" directed by Hugh Swiney, brilliantly captures psychological destruction of anxiety and the interior struggle of a guilty conscious in the character Raskolnikov. Exceptional acting kept the audience involved in this compelling and intense performance of the novel set in impoverished Russia.
"This is the Rill Speaking" directed by Matt Alexander gives viewers a taste of rural Missouri. Well-played characters and amusing matters of small town life makes this play humorous and thoroughly entertaining.
All plays were creatively crafted and well directed. Congratulations to the hard work of the cast, crewmembers, and senior directors for giving the UD community a display of the multitude of talent in the drama department.
