"It's only a month into the semester, how is it you already have a band? Did you know each other before coming to UD?"
TB: I had met Maura at one of the Odyssey Days, really very briefly though. Then after we got back home, way before school started, we got on Facebook and were like, "Hey! I remember you. That was a really fun weekend, eh?" and I was like, "Yeah, it was a lot of fun."
MS: And he said, "I see you play some music."
TB: Yeah, and she said, "I play music too." Then we began an e-mail correspondence throughout the whole entire summer and little before that and sent each other our songs. So when we came to UD, Maura and I knew each other's song really well...So within the first week of school we arranged to get together and play.
MS: Originally there was a bunch of people there.
TB: And then Serena was in the room with her flute, packing up
SW: And this weird guy walked in with his ukulele...
MS: I asked her, "Oh, do you want to play with us?"
TB: And she was like, "I don't know you guys, but, sure."
MS: So we started playing some of what we knew...There were a lot of other people there but other guitarists started to leave and pretty much it ended up that there were the three of us...And we started playing music and it just really clicked.
TB: ...we definitely pulled all-nighters, playing a lot of our songs and arranging others.
"What do you focus on with your music?"
MS: When I write songs, I never really have a particular audience in mind, it's always a way to sort out whatever I'm thinking at the time, so my songs are usually pretty spontaneous in terms of it trying to get out all of my thoughts. And it helps me to re-focus and relax. I focus on questions I'm asking in my life, you know, love, relationships, God, Faith.
