Fitting in time for fitness

Fitting time into your busy schedule for exercise is a difficult task. Time and again we make New Year's resolutions to go to the gym on a daily basis or simply more than we do now, but these promises, more often than not, do not last, especially once the semester gets rolling.
Here is a tip that will help you fulfill your desire to work out more: sign up for a General Studies 1 credit class! The spring 2009 semester is offering Lacrosse Principles, Beginning Weight Training, Soccer Principles and Volleyball Principles. It is much easier to be committed to one of these classes than to try to make it to the gym every other day. There is no experience necessary for these classes, as I can attest to after taking the Soccer Principles class in the spring of 2008. There was a very diverse representation of skill levels, but Coach David Hoffmann did an amazing job of keeping the class geared toward everyone. All in all, it was a very enjoyable learning experience that forced me to play soccer for an hour and a half twice a week.
How often are you going to be able to get credits toward graduation, keep your New Year's resolution and have fun doing it at the same time? Register for one of these classes next semester and reap the benefits of having more energy, relieving stress and staying fit.
