Stress, anxiety, dread. These emotions seemed to loom over campus this past the weekend, and the cold didn't help. With midterms and all the pre-spring break assignments that professors delight in placing on the shoulders of the already stressed student body, something drastic was necessary to relieve these tensions. That is precisely why Clubdonna is so important, because this event, essential to UD's identity as a "party school," allows ones to forget the stress, forget the tests, and return to a pre-lapsarian state of bliss, if only for an hour or two.
This past Saturday over 150 UD students emerged from their study hibernations and gathered in the Madonna Hall Lounge for the second annual Clubdonna. With lively music, refreshments, and no charge there really was no reason not to stop by for a study break. Though it started slightly later then originally planned, due to technical difficulties, the night was an overwhelming success for the Student Apartment and Madonna Hall RHA, who sponsored the event. Aided by glow sticks, students were able to shake out their stress and thereby study even better when the event sadly had to end. Will it return for a third year? Hopes are high, but ultimately that question can only be answered by the future occupants of Madonna and whether or not they are man enough to carry on the tradition of Clubdonna.
