Candidates for President
Nico Montoya
As president, I intend to increase the efficiency of SG so that all of the student body's general needs will be addressed and met. I will not spend entire weeks of SG meetings drafting letters to the administration, but proposals and initiatives will be composed ahead of time by SG members, discussed shortly, and voted on soon thereafter. SG has the potential to accomplish much if run efficiently. Below are the four main changes I will strive to effect: (1) Better communication between departments. (2) Better communication with departments about the needs of the students, particularly with OSL about housing concerns. (3) Beautification of campus in a more classical style. (4) Construction of a sidewalk over the mud-pile at the end of the path through the Art Village from Haggar to the East Side.
Justin Dugyon
I, Justin Dugyon, am announcing my candidacy for SG President. I look forward to serving you next year by working with all levels of the UD community in making sure this school remains true to its identity as a Catholic university for independent thinkers. Realizing this requires working together as a community of bright and energetic students, confident in achieving our goals, but on the part of the SG President, it also requires a deep sense of commitment to UD's future and an in-born sense of how leadership and service go hand in hand.
My leadership in many areas of campus life, from Freshman Orientation to Campus Ministry retreats, has put me in an ideal place to serve you. Vote for Justin Dugyon and keep the UD tradition alive and strong.
